This can be one of a few things when receiving this error message.

1. First make sure the the receiver is running if it is not, launch it.

2. The registry information is incorrect or the CDPETellerService variable is pointed at the incorrect URL.

To correct the variable URL you will need to go to the control panel and go to system.  Then you will need to click on advanced settings (you must be a local administrator to perform this function).  Once there you will need to click on the advanced tab and choose environment variables.  Finally you will need to modify two settings to reflect the proper URL.

Replace test.cdpwebsign.com with the proper servers ip address or server name.  If on a different port number supply that accordingly.  For example if the server were on port 91 the url would look like this:

https://test.cdpwebsign.com:91/CDPETeller/ but in most cases it will be on the default port 80 if you use port 80 then it will be http://test.cdpwebsign.com/CDPETeller/ you do not need the https prefix.

See the attached file EnvironmentVariables.png.

Make sure that you exist the browser and go back into it.  If it is still problematic reboot the PC.

3. Now if the environment variables are correct, you will need to make sure that the registry is pointed to the correct installation location.

Launch the registry editor and go to (start-run-regedit).

Go to HKCR and locate the CDP key.  Expand all the folders down to the command folder.  If this location isn't set to the same path that the software is installed it will result in that error message.  To fix this depending on the bittedness of the operating system you will either want to download and run Registry_x64.reg (for 64 bit PC's) or Registry_x32.reg (for 32 bit pcs).

On a 64 bit PC the software would usually be located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Complete Data Products\CDPReceiverETeller\CDPReceiverETeller.exe

On a 32 bit pc the software would usually be located here:
C:\Program Files\Complete Data Products\CDPReceiverETeller\CDPReceiverETeller.exe

Make sure that you exist the browser and go back into it.  If it is still problematic reboot the PC.
