Serial Thermal Printer Data Masking
Data Masking for Serial Thermal Printers
- Create a folder on the C: drive called Complete Thermal (or other related name).
- Place 20 file in newly created folder.
- The 20 file can be found using the following path: T: Configuration Files for Data Masking: Masking for CU answers: CU Answers Config File.
- Place correct .ss file for the client you are working with in the Complete Thermal folder as well. (Example: MemNum2-2.ss or GMask1.ss).
- Run the CarsDL2-2-SERIAL
- The CarsDL2-2-SERIAL application can be found using the following path: T: Utilities: Serial Utilities: CarsDL2-2-SERIAL (Application).
- Download the correct firmware using the CarsDL2-2-SERIAL application.
- For Galaxy clients use the following path: T: Firmware: Serial Firmware. Then choose the correct S File based on client needs.
- For CU Answers Clients use the following path: T: Configuration Files for Data Masking: Masking for CU answers: CU Answers Firmware Files: FirmwareMaskingNEWser-v20.s file.
- Download the correct logo file for the correct credit union using the CarsDL2-2SERIAL application.
- Go into the T drive then choose the Art for Thermal Receipts folder and find the credit union you need. Use the .tlg
- Download the correct .ss config file.
- Open cmd prompt through the windows start menu.
- Type: cd\ on first line.
- Type: cd completethermal (or whatever you named your file)
- Type: copy 20 com1
- Type: copy (.ssfilename) com1

Naming Convention for Galaxy Masking
G_Mask1.1.2.ss = 1 copy, masks 1rst, shows last 2
G_Mask2.1.ss = 2 copies, masks first, all numbers masked
The first number is how many copies they are printing (Either 1 or 2 always)
The second number will tell you which receipt is masked (Either 1st or 2nd copy)
The third number will tell how many numbers will be shown (.2 means that two numbers are shown, .3 three numbers shown, .4 four numbers shown)
If there are just two numbers (i.e. 2.1.ss instead of 2.2.1) it means all the numbers are masked.
Naming Convention for CU Answers Masking
MemNum0-1.ss = Mask all, 1 copy
MemNum2-1.ss = Show last two, 1 copy
MemNum3-2 = Show last three, 2 copies
The first number is how many numbers will be shown (-2 means the last two numbers will be shown, -3 three numbers shown, -4 four numbers shown)
The second number is how many copies they are printing (Either 1 or 2 always)
