Occasionally, scanning speed may become an issue on your workstation if you are using too many applications at the same time. The article provides some insight, and what you can do to resolve the issue.
If your scanner is performing too slowly, it could be due to having additional programs being ran in the background.
If you do not know if you have additional programs running in the background, please use the following instructions:
To check if other applications are running on your computer, you can use your "Task Manager".
1. Press the keys [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] simultaneously. This should open some Windows options. Select "Task Manager". (You can also open up "Task Manager" automatically by pressing the keys [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc] simultaneously.)
2. If you have unnecessary applications running, this can slow down your computer or limit the amount of memory your computer has to use. Close any unnecessary applications on your computer. To do this, select the task you would like to stop and press the button "End task".
CAUTION: Some applications may not appear important, but are critical to your operations. Please consult your IT personnel before closing any applications that you are unsure of.
