What do I do if my scan images are slanted?

Sometimes, you may run into an issue where your scanned images are slanted. This article specifically discusses a couple of ways to adjust your document for scanning.

To adjust your document guides to better fit the document, please use the following instructions:

1. To adjust the document guides, slide both guides left or right until the guide is against the page you are scanning.

To change the skewed image options, please use the following instructions:

1. Open your default Canon software (CaptureOnTouch). Once open, click on the pencil button in the bottom right-corner of your shortcut.

2. Once in the "Document" tab, select the "Automatically straightens skewed images" drop-down. Make sure this option is the default - "Straightens with angle of fed documents".

Note: If many pages have been scanned since your last roller cleaning, it may also be time to clean your rollers.

To clean your rollers, please use the following instructions:

1. Open the document feed tray. Press the button on the top left-side and pull open the front unit toward you.


2. Use a can of compressed air to remove dust and paper particles from the inside of the scanner.

3. Wipe the rollers with a cloth that has been dampened with water and thoroughly wrung out. Then, use a dry cloth to wipe away any moisture.

4. Remove the feed roller and the separation roller. Once removed, wipe the removed rollers with a cloth that has been dampened with water and thoroughly wrung out. Then, use a dry cloth to wipe away any moisture.

5. Reattach the rollers to the scanner. Now, close the front unit by gently pushing it up on both sides. Make sure that the front unit is completely closed by pushing until you hear a click.

6. Close the document feed tray. Then, open the document eject pocket.

7. Wipe the rollers with a cloth that has been dampened with water and thoroughly wrung out. Then use a dry cloth to wipe away any moisture.

8. Close the document eject pocket.
