Why am I unable to scan new documents?

If you are unable to scan, it could be due to insufficient memory. This article details a couple of alternative steps that you can take.

First off, when scanning in documents, we recommend that you use black and white scanning at 200 dpi. This keeps the file sizes lower without compromising the image quality.

If your scanner size is not already set to the recommended settings, please use the following instructions:

1. Open your default Canon software (CaptureOnTouch). Once open, click on the pencil button in the bottom right-corner of your shortcut.


2. Once in the "Document" tab, select the "Color mode" drop-down. Make sure this option is switched to "Black and White". You will also need to change the "Dots per inch". In the drop-down, this will need to be changed to "200 dpi (Speed Priority)".
